Louis Wasmer was a pioneer in radio broadcasting in Washington State. He built an experimental radio station in Seattle in 1907 and in 1925 came to Spokane where he began a long and successful career as a radio and television entrepreneur. His Spokane radio station holdings included KHQ, KREM, KGA, KSPO, and KFIO. He founded KREM television in Spokane.
